Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your wireless device. Everything still works great. The bridge mode Airport Extreme helps you extend the range of an existing network allowing other Wi-Fi-enabled devices to connect in the premises. The setup assistant automatically provides the best solution for extending your network.
First item.. Specific application notes are included below. Optional: Select the Remember this password in my keychain checkbox to save the password for the AirPort Extreme in the encrypted Keychain Access database. Optional: Select the Use a different password to secure disks and enter a different password if you plan on connecting a USB hard drive to the AirPort Extreme. This allows other users on your network to access the hard drive without having access to the AirPort Extreme settings.
Enter a name for the wireless network in the Wireless Network Name field. This is the name that people will see when they look for your wireless network. To secure the wireless network with a password, so that users have to authenticate before they can connect to your network and access the Internet, select WPA2 Personal and enter a password in the Wireless Password and Verify Password field.
Optional: To leave the wireless network open, so that any user can connect to your network and access the Internet without a password, select No security. This is not recommended for home networks. You will now see a list of the settings for your AirPort displayed. Review them and click Update if they are all correct. You will see a message telling you that your AirPort Extreme is configured to access the Internet.
You should see your AirPort base station listed under the name you gave it using the Setup Assistant. Select it and click Configure. Click Rescan if you do not see it initially, and the Admin Utility will make another attempt to find it. In the configuration screen that comes up, click Base Station Options and a new window will pop up. All of the boxes in this screen should now be unchecked. Click OK. You will return to the first configuration screen again.
A confirmation window will pop up asking if you are sure, click OK. Creating an access control list will prevent unauthorized computers from using your connection. Next Click on the Access Control section at the top of the configuration window.
