If you have a 6V OD trans of some other make and want to use it on 12V, the 6V and 12V solenoids are physically interchangeable.
The governor contains only a set of contact points and does not care whether it is running on 6V or 12V. That page depicts the most elaborately overdone OD control system I have ever seen. Most drivers have no need for that degree of complexity. However, it is one of the few places on the net that has ANY description of the use and care of a 3 speed Saginaw transmissions with overdrive.
